The core of inlet maintenance is "regular replacement and cleaning."

Liner: Regularly inspect and replace the liner based on sample cleanliness and analysis frequency. A dirty liner can lead to poor peak shape, poor reproducibility, and reduced peak area for active compounds.

Septum: Regularly replace the injection septum (e.g., every 100-200 injections or when pressure instability is noticed) to prevent gas leaks.

Sealing Ferrules/O-rings: When replacing the liner, also replace the sealing ferrules or O-rings above and below it to ensure a gas-tight seal.

Split Plate: Periodically remove the split plate and clean it ultrasonically with a suitable solvent (e.g., acetone, methanol).
